Miss Africa USA 2014 Contestants:

From Guinea...

Fatoumata Diabate

I strongly believe this pageant is more than a beauty contest, I believe it's an opportunity for young African women to utilize their empowering and leadership skills in making a difference in their respective countries and their communities.

OurQueens asked Fatoumata Diabate four questions...

What inspired you to join and compete in this fierce pageant?

What inspired me the most was the opportunity to make a difference in this world. To be an advocate for my country and to represent my continent. To be able to implement my platform and mission in life.

We've lost quite a number of sensational and beautiful contestants to the panel judges' "interrogation questions" when all is done putting out a good show. How do you tend to overcome the fear of pageant questions fired from the judges?

I tend to overcome it by first, listening to the question and understanding what they're asking. Then, actually answer the question and formulate the first things that come to my mind.

What has been the most significant achievement in your life? Why?

The most significant achievement in my life so far, was being part of the student Government in my college. This is my passion and this is what I love to do!!! Serving the students on campus, gave me a reason to wake up every morning with great enthusiasm. So, I hope with Miss Africa, I will be able to do the same.

Why do you believe you should be crowned as the winner ofthis year's Miss USA Africa contest?

I should be crowned Miss Africa USA 2014, because I believe I can inspire change in the hearts of Africans around the world. In the way of giving power to the people, a voice to the unheard, education to the illiterate and motivation to the youth.
