With the state of the global economy today, what opportunities are out there for African nations and how do you think they should grab and take advantage of those opportunities?
Although the global economy is not at its peak, I still believe there are opportunities for African Nations out there. Education-wise I believe there are great opportunities for African Nations as there are a number of programmes for scholarships and part-scholarships to offer aid to students within Africa. Further some countries are developing programmes to nurture students from an early onset so they can one day become great leaders of African who give back to their community and continent. The institute of education Africa Leadership Academy in South Africa is a great believer in developing the next generation of African leaders. African nations continue to develop and thrive and great opportunities are there for the taking, I believe they should grab and take advantage of these. As Africans we are a hardworking, ambitious people which is something which should always shine through and I believe given the right opportunities this is clear to see.
What is the African Spirit... How do you live it?... How do you share it?
African Spirit is being proud to be African, like being proud of your background, the way you carry yourself, your norms and values and your culture. Further its capturing the spirit of community and positivity as Africa is known for being a welcoming continent with happy people. In terms of how I live the African Spirit, I love all things to do with my culture so I am always listening to a wide range of African music, and dress wise I enjoy wearing varying African wear from African designers and of course I have a deep love for Zimbabwean dishes which I always enjoy cooking. I share my passion for all things which I believe capture the African Spirit through my personality and my likes for example music, dance and dress sense.
Are you beautiful? Can you share your beauty secret to your fellow African sisters?
Yes... I say yes... because I believe all individuals are beautiful in their own way and beauty comes in an array of different colours, shapes and sizes. Beauty is not only what is reflected on the outside, but also inner beauty. Beauty secret for my fellow African sisters is to be an individual and not be scared to be unique, rather embrace the person you are and be proud of who you are. When you have this confidence within you it will radiate out to all those who meet you and your beauty will shine through.

Cynthia Mtombeni.
