Miss African Spirit Contestants:

From Zimbabwe...

Tafadzwa Jambwa

Profession/ Education: Business Student at Demontfort University Leicester / Model

UGPulse.com asked the contestants 3 questions...

With the state of the global economy today, what opportunities are out there for African nations and how do you think they should grab and take advantage of those opportunities?

Africa has quite a number of opportunities in this global economy that we are living in today and Africa needs to grab these opportunities firmly and take advantage of them. Africa has opportunities to improve its lifestyle in terms of technology such as good computer usage, agriculture... etc to improve skills, knowledge and welfare. Increased usage in terms of technology in Africa will help build expertise and equip young Africans for a future tomorrow. Technology will lead to health opportunities since advanced technology can contribute to better medics. This can lead to increased numbers of health centres such as drop-in centres, clinics, dentists, surgeons etc in order to minimise the rates of people affected by different diseases causing a short lifespan for Africans.

Other opportunities are reducing poverty in deprived areas through having good and established charity organisations that can help disabled people and orphans. Reducing poverty will make Africa a better place. Africa also has a chance to display its culture positively to the outside cultures and educate other cultures so that they can be positively portrayed. There are also business opportunities created with the global economy in terms of foreign investment etc which can aid Africa with a better economy and increased wealth and welfare etc. Africa should grab economies of scale opportunities that come up and Fair trade is another opportunity as this will create better trade platforms for Africa.

What is the African Spirit... How do you live it?... How do you share it?

The African spirit can be determined as being influenced by the African heritage, beliefs, norms and values; it is having the African morale and having an African influence that flows through our blood veins and people having to determine that we are African without being told. No matter where we move to or where we were born... having the African Spirit is being able to still trace our roots and taking pride by living in them. When we live it people should see it through us... Be it the food we eat, clothes we wear, the language, music, character and respect. The African Spirit can be shared simply through the way we live it because as we live it our friends and people from other cultures are able to see who we are, and if we have pride in our African heritage we will definitely influence other cultures and create a positive image of Africa.

Are you beautiful? Can you share your beauty secret to your fellow African sisters?

Yes I am beautiful and I am glad because I am beautiful outside as well as inside my heart. My secret to beauty is that look after yourself properly so you can be a representable woman. However don’t forget that inner beauty contributes well to outer beauty. If your heart is cold even though you are beautiful outside people will forget that. Maintaining natural beauty is another secret that is key to one's overall beauty and making sure we don’t end up being enslaved in too much fakery.
